Noted as the home of adventure, this small town of 37,000 nestled in the Southern Alps is a delightful must see spot.

Sheep shearing demo after dinner a pro can shear a sheep in 1-minute. Earns NZ$3 each.
The demo took 5 minutes to ensure not to nick the sheep
I had always wanted to try an Ice Bar.... on 26 March I did it!
The bar was entirely made of ice, was kept at Minus 8.2C / 17F the day I was there and delightful (in shorts & sandals! Lol)
